- Mac OS X 86 sold in Bangkok market - Yoc - 16:16:35
Always at the edge so far as copying CDs is concerned, the Bangkok market already sells a totally illegal version of Mac OS X 10.4 for PC. Pirates of course took advantage of the osx86project community discoveries, in order to sell versions they dare to call "Retail Edition", for 6€. They point out this version is for experimented users, which won't prevent the curious to buy it.

Even if we couldn't help be somehow seduced by the hack ingenious ways, we are of course scandalized that malevolant users could go as far as to commercialize a pirate version of Apple developper kit.

- 24" LCD panel : price war - Lionel - 13:46:27
Source : Digitimes
The market for small-size LCD panels is already saturated. So, the battle is moving to larger size LCD panels, leading to a possible overproduction and a new price decrease in the months to come. Dell has been the first to fire with its 24" LCD display proposed with a very aggressive price. Today, it is Acer that is officially launching a 24" LCD model at a low price.
The AL24160, with high-end performance level, is available at 871$ in Taiwan, or 860Euro in France/Europe.
One can expect that Apple will react since those 24" LCD display are almost the same price than the 20" Apple Cinema Display.
Knowing Apple strategy, we would not be surprise to see price cuts and the current 23" model becoming the entry-level, while a high-end model larger than the 30" model, will be introduced.
